The entire cricketing universe went in shock as he passed away just three days before marking his appearance in a stadium during a TNPL game.

He was the mastermind behind picking MS Dhoni for the Chennai side in the IPL. He also took up the role of manager for the first three seasons of Chennai Super Kings.

VB Chandrasekhar has been a part of the commentary panel for the Star Sports Tamil channel since its inception. He is known for his expert opinions and other predictions for domestic and international games. He even functioned as a national selector from 2004 to 2006.

Former cricketers express grief

A lot of former cricketers have been expressing their grief towards his loss. Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Anil Kumble, and several other players have tweeted their condolences on social media.

VB was one of the finest cricketers for Tamilnadu Cricket as his numbers say. He scored close to 5000 FC runs at a brilliant average of 43 in his times.
